This sauce is really big here in the Japanese Steakhouses & Hibatchi Restaurants in North Carolina & other Southern States.
There are a lot of recipes online that are complete mishaps (trust me I've tried them all), however, after tweaking two recipes I created something that is close if not THE actual sauce.
This really is amazing on homemade Hibatchi, fried rice, sushi, and even burgers!
shrimp / yum yum sauce:
Ingrediants:
1-2 cup(s) mayonnaise
3 tablespoons sugar
1-2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons of the heavy syrup from peaches in a can
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 - 1 tablespoon ketchup (to give it that pink-orange color)
1-3 teaspoons paprika
1-3 teaspoons garlic powder
Just mix everything together in a medium bowl and if you need to, you can adjust it to your liking. This is probably the most accurate recipe out there. It's took me several days to get this right, because it's such a mystery. So I hope you enjoy!
