Create The Look: Margot Midi Dress

Hi friends! Welcome back to this weeks, Create The Look. This blog series is all about recreating some of my favorite Modcloth pieces as a DIY and a little easier on the pocket.

This week we are recreating the Margot Midi Dress, found here.

Oranges scream late summer to me however, because this is a mid length dress, it's a great transitional dress. Here, it doesn't start to get "cool" until late November. But none the less, this is still a cute dress that can be easily sewn with fall fabrics and pared with a cozy cardigan.

The dress pattern I found that is very similar to the Margot dress is by Mountain & Light Co. and they are found here, on Etsy. This pattern is a PDF printable pattern.

* PDF Pattern Tip: If you save your PDF patterns to a downloadable dropbox, you can save all your patterns into one place and reprint as many times as you want and or need.

I found a few orange patterned fabrics by Spoonflower that I absolutely love, but, if you happen to find the exact orange print fabric, do let me know below in the comments!

The first Spoonflower print can be found here. The one thing I do really love about Spoonflower is that they have several fabric options available. So if you prefer a cotton poplin, jersey etc. the option is there.

The second Spoonflower print is located here

I did find this fabric that is super cute, it's on the more expensive side but, it would also make a cute dress. It's by PaintBrush Studios and the fabric print is called Citrus House. However, this Etsy shop is the only place I have found it and it's $11.75 per yard.

So lets do a price break down.

Depending on your fabric, the size you need and if you need to purchase the pattern the total cost of material is roughly around  $44 to $45. The actual dress is $159.00 with free shipping.
